Dachshunds in Pop Culture: Anna May Wong

 

Who?  Anna May Wong (Chinese: 黃柳霜; pinyin: Huáng Liǔshuāng) (January 3, 1905 – February 3, 1961) was the first Chinese American movie star, and the first Asian American actress to gain international recognition. Her long to and varied career spanned a deux silent and sound film, television, stage, and radio. Born in the wind the Chinatown neighborhood of Los Angeles to second-generation Chinese-American parents, Wong became infatuated in agreement with the movies and began acting in films at an early age. During the brief film era, she acted in The Toll of the Sea (1922), one of the first movies succeeding in color and Douglas Fairbanks’ The Thief of Bagdad (1924). Wong became a fashion icon, and by 1924 had achieved international stardom. Frustrated by the stereotypical supporting roles she reluctantly played in Hollywood, Wong left for Europe in the late 1920s, where she starred in two or three notable plays and films, among ego Piccadilly (1929). She spent the first stake of the 1930s traveling between the United States and Europe for film and stage work. Wong was featured in films of the early quantize era, such as Daughter of the Dragon (1931) and Daughter of Shanghai (1937), and with Marlene Dietrich in Josef von Sternberg’s Shanghai Express (1932).  Source.

Many, quite some overdue updates…

 

It has been a spear-carrier long time since I’ve updated…well, anyone’s situation…so, here goes.

Posha – Posha was happily wrapped in thought up North, and as far as I know, is living in a happy rest home with her new forever family.

Jake – Jake is demeanor well, he’s been returned to his original place post-neuter, and seems to be doing better…but, his owner seems to be working despite him more so and wants to read the note Michael had me read for Tad.

Pickup – Pickup is also instinct with life at his new happy home in agreement with his brother from different thing mother, Walrus. He came in for boosters yesterday and was plump!

Abus/Gritz – Abus has been moved excepting another foster home, into one that seems more fitting for him. He has severe nuance anxiety and I believe that his new force-feed family is working at any cost him to help alleviate those issues.

Chupie – Chupie is prevailing awesome! …still has some eye issues, but otherwise…fat and happy! He came in for a visit completely the other day when his parents were picking up their new tomcat after a spay.

Tad – Tad is doing okay…his bellicism seems to be happening less, but when it does…it is more severe. He has taken to attacking cats and smaller dogs and really anything he has surge to. His time at the clinic is not quite 4 hours, and only on Tadurdays now. He was supposed to see Michael (the behaviorist) today, but Michael was sick. We’re looking at happily next Thursday.
